Give me a raise

Spring said he was disappointed to see the council so divided, especially on the budget.

“It’s a shame that it had to come down to a partisan issue,” he said. “That was their motive — to stop the progress here. We worked too long on this budget. It’s a realistic budget. Let’s give credit to the city’s personnel for doing a good job.”

Farha voiced concern about the budget’s growth while “the rest of the country is going through a very difficult economic time.” Farha said it’s “not completely responsible” for the council to send a message to the community “that we refuse to sacrifice anything. That’s my trouble with this budget.”
